The Words that Bind

The words that bind you are varied for each person. Each person has their own unique label in the form of words. The words that bind change as life goes on but they stick with you forever. If a person is called ugly, that person is undeniably ugly and they are bounded by that word for life. Words in this world have tremendous power and will affect all humans, but what if one does not have a label? What would happen to him? Nothing, nothing will happen to him, but as this society demands it, a label must be given to those humans that are unlabelled. They are labelled as “Vagabonds”. Vagabonds are treated as the outsiders of this world. They are shunned and looked down upon, they do not have the same respect as The Labelled and they do not get the same attention as The Labelled. They are merely just there. To the world, Vagabonds are rare and hard to come by, but even if they are found out, they are not treated as a rare specimen but more of a roadkill. They will receive sympathy but not respect. So, how can a Vagabond survive in this world? They can’t. If the words that bind them have been placed, they can never escape their fate. If only, there was some way to escape this harsh reality.
