A long brush of hair, swinging elegantly in the light. The rays bounce off her amber hair, shimmering beautifully. She was hopping slowly in the fields of twilight, embracing the moment. She slowly reached to the middle of the field, and stopped. She tilted her head and closed her eyes. She felt an embracing warmth, showering her with memories of the past. She smelled the pollen filled air, as thoughts flooded her head.

"It was a simpler time..." She muttered.

In the distance, a gunshot echoed through the air. She looked towards it, and irritation began to form on her face. The light was fading, a looming darkness formed above her head. Rumbling thunder disturbed the sky. The woman walked to the gunshot and silently walked across the field. The grass around her started wilting as she took each step. Her once elegant amber hair, turned into a beautiful snow white. A droplet from the sky signaled a newly found emotion, an emotion of anger. The rain poured down onto the woman, drenching her from head to toe.

"I have been burdened by the sorrows of my kin, and it burns deeply into my wounds."

The thundering rain brought forth chilling winds and blew onto her hair, revealing an ugly scar on her neck.

"They will not be forgiven, for defiling us and sullying our pride. They will be purged for their sins."

The woman then clasped her hands into a prayer and shut her eyes.

"O, Merciful one, grant me the power I had once lost to rid these demons from the Earth." She prayed.

In an instant, she glowed a florescent white and feathers started surrounding her. Wings formed on her back. Her wings spread out and slowly lifted her up from the ground.

In the distance, another gunshot was heard, followed by an inhuman roar. This time however, a new sound was heard, it was the screams of children. The woman was unfazed but bore a menacing aura. She slowly opened her eyes and turned her attention towards the screams. Without a moment's notice, she flew straight to the cries. The woman flew to a forested area at light's speed and scanned the area for any villains. Her sharp eyes caught a red demon edging towards a boy and girl. The demon was vile with horns sticking out from its entire body. Its eyes commanded a deep flame, burning as bright as hellfire. Its mouth was slobbering and drooling from the hunger it has endured after a millennia of rotting in hell. The demon had bloodstains on its horns, suggesting that it had already claimed its victims. The children stared in utter shock, holding each other closely, awaiting for the inevitable. The demon however seemed to enjoy this fear and immediately pounced onto the children. The children screamed in terror. The woman dashed into the demon and stunned it in its place. The demon fell, allowing the children to escape the scene. The demon slowly stood up as the woman gently touched the ground. The demon looked at its attacker and grimaced at the woman.

"Valkyrie, you will regret ever attacking me."

The demon spoke.

"Oh? And what might a weak red demon like you do to me?" The Valkyrie answered.

The demon chuckled maniacally.

"You will share the same fate as your sisters! Slaves to the almighty Al'kao! He will reward me greatly with the possession of your chastity!"

The demon pounced up in the air, attacking the Valkyrie. The Valkyrie, however, did not move an inch, but instead smiled sadistically at the demon.

"Your presence disgusts me, demon."

The demon withdrew his attack mid-air and suddenly returned to its original position. The demon was shaken with fear and cowered like a dog, but the Valkyrie attacked as it landed, forming a spear mid-way and slashing a deep cut into the chest of the demon. The demon screamed in pain and fell to the ground. The Valkyrie walked to the demon and pointed her spear at it. Her face was contorted with emotion.

"My sisters will be saved, and the demon lord shall fall, by my hands, demon."

The Valkyrie lifted her spear and plunged it deeply into the face of the demon. The demon's body twitched, as its soul left the world. The Valkyrie's spear disappeared, leaving particles in its wake. The Valkyrie's hair remained unchanged. The Valkyrie then flew to the sky and into the clouds, where her home resides.

Her home was a gigantic structure resembling the ancient temples of Rome. As she entered the building, she was greeted by her two sisters who were waiting anxiously for her return.

"Artemis! You have returned safely!" Her sister exclaimed.

Her other sister hugged her compassionately, and Artemis accepted it.

"It is okay, my sisters, I was merely gone for a moment."

Artemis' soothing voice calmed her sisters, but their faces were riddled with worry.

"We worry for your safety, Artemis. We worry that you would never come back, like the rest."

The sister hugging her explained.

Artemis held her tighter as she heard that,

"Oh, Polli..."

Her sister standing by, feeling neglected, ran towards Artemis and hugged her. Artemis smiled gently as she embraced her blood sisters and silently teared up. Her home had been massacred and stripped of its residents, but her sisters were spared. She was the Valkyrie's last hope.
