Jule lets out an exasperated sigh. She turned on the lights to the atrocious apartment that she calls home. She removes her cap and places it on her age-old table passed down from her mother. She removes her hairband, letting her hair flow freely as she shuffles towards her bedroom. Her bed was worn out and accumulated a ton of dust, for not being washed for over a year. She slumps into it and whimpers. She sniffed the old bed and relieved herself from reality. Out of the blue, a heavy object rammed into her back, she peeked at the mysterious object, and unsurprisingly a fat cat appeared. The fat cat known as Gilius. Gilius had been sneaking into Jule’s home ever since she had moved into it. The stray was malnourished and uncared for when she had first arrived, and Jule couldn’t stay away from its pitiful sight. Now the cat has been more of a nuisance than something to pity. Jule got up and stared at the stray with her emerald eyes. Gilius looked blankly at her, confused as to what Jule was feeling. Jule chased the fat cat away as she got out of her bed. Her tired eyes peeked at the slightly ajar wardrobe in her bedroom. A frilly dress. Jule sat up and stared at it. Her eyes widening as she immersed in her thoughts. As if by some epiphany, Jule dashed around the apartment, shutting down every window and covering them. Gilius tracked her around in a curious yet frightened manner. Jule managed to cover up every nook and cranny from the outside the world. This was where she really lived in. In this apartment, where every judging gaze won’t be seen, where every comment won’t her, where every danger won’t come near her. This was her world, and she was the goddess of it. Jule zapped to her wardrobe, revealing a conspicuous amount of costumes well-made and ready to use. She eyed the frilly dress and gently removed it from the wardrobe. Her eyes lit up as she skipped towards her bathroom. She emerged, not as a cashier from a fast food chain, but as a fair maiden with everything going her way. She went to her dresser and applied a pound of make-up on her face. She looked at the mirror and fathomed the stunning beauty in front of her. It is as if, she had crawled out of another world, where everyone was perfect. Jule stood there and admired the figure standing before her. As of every costume in her wardrobe, there was a character embodied into it. The frilly dress, was personified as a heartbroken princess trapped in a tower. So, Jule roleplayed into it. She dramatically starts dancing around the room in a sad manner as she voiced out her pleas and hopes of ever getting out of the tower. Her heart raced, as she started to get more into character. Her movements became exaggerated. Gilius stared in fright as it continued to watch Jule roleplay. Jule then notices Gilius at the corner of her eye and grins mischievously. She runs to the cat and swiftly picks him up as it tries its best to run away. Unfortunately for Gilius, he was now under the whim of Jule. Jule then started dancing with Gilius, pretending he is the knight that had saved her. Jule eventually stopped tormenting Gilius as it ran away from her and giggled uncontrollably. She sat down at the dresser and looked at the mirror once more. Her reflection was tearing. In that very moment, reality came crashing down at her again. It was a life that will never see the light of day. This world would never accept who she really wants to be, yet, it was all she was. She sank into the dresser, and sobbed uncontrollably. It was a life that she could never choose, and it haunts her to this day.
