The scintillating moonlight,

Shines on the lake,

Mimicking its elegance.

The maidens of envy

Prance upon the waters,

Dancing to the beat

Of their souls.

They graze past each other,

Ignorant and blissful.

The still waters of the lake,

Ripple gently,

To the rhythm of their dance.

Their smiles of discontent,

Keep them afloat,

In this moment of lull.

A misstep, to their dance,

Will make them sink,

And they will drown

In their jealously.

The maidens will watch,

Contented and forgiving,

Continuing their dance,

Till time transcend.
